Confidence in Germany

A strong belief in Germany as the location for its operations seems to be deeply held by the management of Neenah Gessner. Seven million Euros are to be invested at their plant in Weidach near Westerham to build a new production facility.

Feldkirchen-Westerham – During the quarterly Board Meeting of Neenah Paper Inc., USA, at their Feldkirchen-Westerham (Weidach) mill the senior management of this globally active company, joined the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the 2,100 m² facility.

By as soon as February next year, various synthetic fibers will be produced in the new facility and are to be used in filter media for the automotive industry, as well as in pharmaceutical and food packaging applications.
„We’re fitting out the new facility with a new Meltblown Line, a laminating machine and a Nano-Fiber production line so as to go yet a further step to specialize in high-value products“, explained Director of Operations, Holger Baumgartner.

„To be globally competitive and successful, we always need to stay a step ahead. With this new facility, Neenah Gessner can take this strategy forward“, managing director, Armin Schwinn, strongly believes. Hans Waldhoer, Union President at Neenah Gessner, expressed his pleasure that, during the crisis, jobs had already been protected and new ones created and, with this new facility, even more new jobs would soon come on stream.
