Quality is the best recipe
We understand Quality Management as the successful symbiosis of our process and product quality. For us too, the implementation of a Quality Management System involved a lot of work and discussion. But with hindsight, all our processes have benefited from greater efficiency, clearer definition, more stringent over-sight and from fresh impulses and ideas for greater cost-effectiveness.
A Quality Management System that has full control over our processes ensures that our customers receive our products and services in the right quality, on time and according to agreed conditions. We live quality – body and soul – in our research and development, in production, and in our management and staff teams. Because this much is clear: that quality is the most important pre-requisite for remaining a premium supplier in today’s competitive global market.
Since 1992, our Quality Management System is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and, since 2003, to DIN EN ISO 9001/2000
Doing Business Responsibly: Environmental management at Neenah Gesser
At Neenah Gessner, environmental management means, above all, continuously reducing the environmental impact of our production processes and improving our long-term environmental efficiency. When selecting raw materials, or configuring our production processes, or developing new products, we take the careful conservation of natural resources into account.
The wood used in our most important raw materal, woodpulp, comes only from sustainably managed forests. That means, for example, that we don’t use any woodpulp coming from protected tropical forests. An important impact of papermaking on the environment is the use of water – and the incidence of waste water. Thanks to various measures, in the last few years we’ve been able to dramatically reduce the rate of pollutants coming from our purification plant.
Our Environmental Management System has, since 1997, been certified by the EMAS-EG-ECO Audit Authority and, since 2001, is certified to DIN ISO 14001
Black on white: Our guidelines for environmental protection and health and safety
- Safety at work, health and environmental protection assure quality of life.
Nothing is important enough to risk an injury. Our health is our most important value. Economic considerations are secondary. - Safe working and a protected environment CAN be done.
We set targets for improvement and define measures, such as assigning responsibilities and auditing performance. In that way, we continuously improve our health and safety record and reduce our environmental impact. - Awareness of health and safety and a responsible attitude to the environment are pre-requisites for employment.
We both encourage and require all our employees to have full regard for health and safety and for environmental protection issues. - Any risk of injury involving health or safety at work or environmental protection can and must be reduced.
We reduce the potential for injuries through risk analyses and preventative measures. For any corrective measures, removing the causes is always the priority. - Every employee is personally responsible for health and safety and environmental protection.
Each of our employees is him/herself responsible for working safely and for using energy, materials and water efficiently, and for avoiding waste. We actively monitor and protect our employees, so avoiding inappropriate behaviour.
